Diabetes & Metabolism Associates is dedicated to advanced research in Endocrinology.  Our Research Department is integrated within all three of our office locations (Metairie, Covington and Marrero). We conduct our clinical research in Phase 2-4 of drug development.  Our board-certified physicians are focused on high quality research in the areas of Diabetes (Type 1 & 2), Diabetic Kidney Disease, Diabetic Retinopathy, Obesity, Cholesterol, Weight loss and Hypertension.  Our goal is to improve the lives of our patients.  Through our research, we have been able to increase the amount of Diabetes, Obesity, Thyroid, and Lipid research done in southern Louisiana.  Our patients consistently tell us that they want new and better treatments for their endocrine conditions.  We are fortunate to have participated in studies involving new oral and injectable agents for the treatment of Diabetes and its complications.

 

Many people want to participate in clinical trials because they want to help study new treatments for themselves and others.  Other benefits to patients on a research study may include free medications, free Diabetes supplies, payment to the patient for each visit, and close monitoring by the board certified physicians and certified research nurses.
